Day & Night: Laura Whitmore denies Strictly feud with dance partner Giovanni Pernice

The 31-year-old, who was eliminated from the dance competition in week seven, was accused of not being easy to work with and feuding with dance partner Giovanni Pernice, 26.

Speaking exclusively to Day & Night the Irish TV presenter said: “It is all very disappointing and untrue. I had a great time at Strictly.

However, when asked if she misses being on the show, she perhaps tellingly responded: “I’m so busy focusing on so much stuff – I have a play, Not Dead Enough coming up.”

She also revealed she’ll be absent from the live UK tour next year, which recently confirmed fellow contestants Daisy Lowe, Danny Mac and Louise Redknapp would be taking part.

U2 The Edge

U2 guitarist The Edge is saddened by a disconnect between music and politics

U2 GUITARIST The Edge bemoans what he sees as a disconnect between music and politics, with few singers making a political point any more.

“If you take the top 50 on any music-streaming service, there’s some beautifully made pop music but nothing with any ambition beyond just occupying the airwaves – apart from Kanye and Beyoncé,” he tells Q magazine.

However, the 55-year-old feels the recent protests against the police in America for shooting unarmed black people could be changing that.

“With the Black Lives Matter movement, music has become politically relevant again. It felt like music had become dormant politically over the past few years.”

Marion Cotillard

Marion Cotillard isn’t bothered by rumours about an allegedaffair with Brad Pitt

THE constant grind of the rumour mill is enough to drive anyone to distraction but for Marion Cotillard, right, it is just white noise… or so she says.

The Oscar-winner, 41, insists the controversy surrounding her alleged affair with Brad Pitt hasn’t bothered her in the slightest: “I never take anything personally when it doesn’t concern me. So, I didn’t take it personally because I had nothing to do with the situation.”

However, when news broke of a split between Angelina Jolie and Brad and fingers pointed at Marion, she wasn’t so calm and collected.

She took to her Instagram account to deny any rumours and said she is still in love with long-term partner Guillaume Canet: “Many years ago, I met the man of my life, father of our son and of the baby we are expecting.

“He is my love, my best friend, the only one that I need.”

Second World War drama Allied starring Marion and Brad comes out next week.

Sir Mick Jagger

Sir Mick Jagger left a whopping £400-plus tip at Chinese restaurant in New York

Hopefully Mick still moves like Jagger

WITH his whippet-like swaggering hips Sir Mick Jagger doesn’t need to worry about his waistline and proved as much at a Chinese restaurant in New York.

Eyewitnesses at high-end eatery Philippe Chow saw the 73-year-old finally get some Satisfaction at least in a culinary sense as he gorged on tuna tartare, chicken satay, Peking duck and noodles before rounding it all off with baked Alaska.

And the waiters got theirs too as the Rolling Stone left a whopping £400-plus tip, which was more than the bill itself.

He must have worked up that appetite while promoting the band’s new album Blue & Lonesome, due for release on December 2.
