But it seems the singer could soon be opting for a different career entirely – after confessing that he would like to be an actor.
The 28 year old told the that he is having his tattoos removed in the hope of breaking Hollywood.
“I’ve already had nine sessions,’ the popstar revealed.
“They take a while and cost a lot of money but it will be worth it.
“I really want to do acting and don’t want to be typecast because of my tattoos.”
The musician currently has permanent ink adorning his arms, chest, neck and face.
But the heart throb is not holding back, even removing an owl on his neck and a crown on his hand.
James has only just released his comeback album, Back From The Edge, his first since 2013.
And now the singer has re-signed with Simon Cowell’s label and after experiencing rave reviews for his latest single.
The musician was previously dropped from the label two years after his career failed to launch.
And last month the popstar admitted he has been shocked by the positive public reaction from his fans.
“My mind is blown. I can’t believe I’m in this position,” the hunk said.
“This would not have been possible without the people that played some part in getting this album made and out there.
“And of course none of this would be possible without the support of my incredible fans. Thanks for believing in me.”
Yet despite his huge success, the star recently received some negative comments from fans on Twitter – who likened him to Donald Trump.
“Is James Arthur related to Donald Trump? Look-a-likey,” wrote one person online.
Another added: “Anybody think James Arthur is the love child of Donald trump!! Look closely!!”
While the singer-songwriter recently revealed that he had been snubbed by his ex girlfriend, Rita Ora when he approached her about a collaboration.
The couple called off their brief romance in 2013 — and the Black Widow singer made her feelings pretty clear when she refused to duet with her former fling.
“It was tough to get people involved in this one because I don’t think anyone expected me to come back,” James told
“I was calling Ellie Goulding and Rita Ora, all these guys, saying, ‘Do you want to sing this line?’ I got nothing.”
