There will be five movies in the franchise, and the Hollywood giant’s role is yet to be revealed
Johnny Depp is set to star in the next sequel for the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.
The Hollywood star’s role has not been revealed yet, but the 2018 release is already listed on his IMDB page and is in pre-production. It is however thought to be a “co-starring” role.
According to Deadline, 53-year-old Depp also makes an almost unnoticeable appearance in the first instalment, which is set to premiere later this month.
David Yates will be taking the helm of the sequel, which starts filming next year with Eddie Redmayne reprising his role of Newt Scamander.
Last month, J.K. Rowling has confirmed the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie series will consist of five movies in total.
Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, and director David Yates, all took part in the long-awaited global Q&A event from London, while the likes of Colin Farrell and Jon Voight joined from LA.
As well as unseen footage from the film being shown to fans, there was news that there will be FOUR more movies, making the series five-long in total.
