One luck fan got the chance to dine with Leonardo DiCaprio today during his first visit to Edinburgh.
Elise Lovell, 45, entered a prize draw last month and met the actor at Home Cafe on Queensferry Street in the city, an eatery which gives its profits to the homeless.
Speaking after the lunch on Thursday, she revealed she bought EIGHT tickets to be in with a chance of meeting Leo and they chatted about Donald Trump.
She said: “Someone asked the question about how he felt about the result, he kind of laughed and said it was definitely a shock. He didn’t go into too much detail.
“I guess he’s looking to see how the next administration will progress in terms of climate change and the work he’s doing.”
Elise quizzed him the best places he’s visited and even cheekily asked where he was going to stay in Edinburgh, but he remained tight-lipped.
“There were a lot of questions around the table,” she added.
“He was very charming, he took lots of pictures. He made everyone feel welcome. He was absolutely charming.”
BBC reporter Angie Brown shared her interview in clips on her Twitter account, writing to followers: “Elise Lovell, 45, Edinburgh said she felt like she had won the @ TNLUK lottery having lunch with @ LeoDiCaprio.”
Edinburgh News claimed lamb tagine was on the menu for Leonardo DiCaprio during his visit – but the star was rumoured to be vegan.
However, a member of staff at the cafe told us he ate a “posh macaroni and cheese” but couldn’t confirm if it was a vegan option.
The star reportedly threw up on the set of his movie The Revenant after eating a bison liver.
Director Alejandro G. Inarritu told Variety that he was concerned about his him getting ill, but was pleased he agreed to eat it, as “without it, he may not have gotten to the truth.”
The Oscar-winning actor is in the city to speak at the Scottish Business Awards at the EICC and was greeted by hundreds of fans who flooded the streets to see him – some waiting hours in the rain.
He looked dapper with his dark hair slicked back while wearing a white open-collared shirt and black trousers with matching shoes.
Leo wrapped up warm in a long smart coat as he braved the cold weather and showed off his designer stubble.
Fans joked he’d arrived on the BUS as they shared a picture of people travelling past the star in the background, no doubt an interesting trip on a Thursday.
One Twitter user wrote: “watching leonardo dicaprio having lunch in edinburgh (from a bus cause were stuck in traffic cause people are flooding the streets)”
A second posted: “image just sitting on the 104 on the way to work and leonardo dicaprio hops on wi his £1.60 bus fare.”
“Leo arrives in Edinburgh and immediately catches the 47. ‘I’ve heard great things about the Anchor Inn.'” another joked.
Fan Marlene MacKenzie, 47, told the BBC: “I’m very nervous about meeting Leo. I might pass out.”
One fan also posted on social media: “Girl I know who’s obsessed with Leonardo DiCaprio to the point that he’s tattooed on her has just MET him can you imagine how she feels!!!”
