And although she lost out on the winning spot to Matt Cardle – who recently confessed his painter decorator title was a lie – Rebecca has found her own status as a celebrity, thanks to her unique voice.
Before heading on stage to perform at the switch on of Regent Street’s Christmas lights, OK! Online chatted to the pop star.
The 30 year old has been very successful since appearing on the show in 2010 but the Liverpool-born beauty confessed that fame does have its downsides.
She told us: “The most difficult thing, for me personally, it was probably just like trying to handle the different people that came along, that were not necessarily good for me.
“Probably the hardest thing for me is trying to find someone to trust that’s their complete self.
“So I’m very picky about who I have in my circle,” she added.
And while the Superwoman hit-maker moved onto have four successful albums, she admitted she soon lost touch with the rest of her X Factor contestants, who included One Direction, Cher Lloyd and Katie Waissel.
Rebecca explained: “I did (keep in touch) for a couple of years but I haven’t, we kind of lost touch.
“We were all on each other’s Whatsapps and BBMs.”
And when we asked if all the contestants became firm friends while living together for the show, the mum of two revealed it didn’t stay that way.
